Mallika Sherawat booked for insulting national flag

Hyderabad police Thursday booked Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat for disrespecting the national flag. On the direction of a city court, a case against the actress was booked at Falaknuma police station in old city of Hyderabad. A police officer said a case under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 was registered. Two citizens had filed a petition in the court, seeking direction to the police to book the actress for insulting the national flag in her upcoming film "Dirty Politics". Mallika had wrapped a tricolour on her body on the movie poster. She was seen sitting on the roof of a car with red beacon. This was the second case booked against her in Telangana state. Last month, police in Karimnagar town had registered a case against the actress under different sections of various acts pertaining to the state emblem and national flag. While shooting for ‘Ragini MMS 2’, the Indo-Canadian porn star turned Bollywood actress Sunny Leone’s expensive lingerie worth Rs 50,000 went missing from the film set. The undergarments went missing from the set of the film and after extensive search it could not be located. Sunny was suppose to shoot an underwater scene with this expensive lingerie but she could not due to the theft. A source informed that Sunny was wearing a grey coloured lingerie for the shot. Emraan Hashmi's son diagnosed with cancer

Actor Emraan Hashmi's four-year-old son Ayaan has been diagnosed with first stage cancer. According to reports, the actor's son, admitted to the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai, on Monday, January 13, was diagnosed with a tumour in his kidney that was found to be malignant. Emraan's filmmaker uncle Mahesh Bhatt rushed to his residence to be by his side in this difficult time. At present, Ayan is reportedly being prepped for immediate surgery which may be followed by chemotherapy sessions to get rid of the malignant tumour. Hashmi, who was scheduled to leave for South Africa for the shooting of his upcoming film Mr X on January 18, has canceled his travel plans to be by his ailing son's side. The film's shoot will now take place in Mumbai so that the actor can be close to his family.

Legendary actress Suchitra Sen dies at 82

Legendary actress Suchitra Sen, who was also called Bengal's Greta Garbo, died in Kolkata at 82 today. The actress had been in hospital since December 23 for treatment for a respiratory tract infection. Ms Sen began her career with the Bengali film 'Shesh Kothay' in 1952 and is known for her role in Bimal Roy's 'Devdas' (1955) and 'Aandhi' (1975). Ms Sen was also the first Indian actress to be awarded at an international film festival - Best Actress award for 'Saptapadi' at the Moscow film festival in 1963. But after her 1978 movie, 'Pronoy Pasha' flopped, she disappeared from the public eye and even allegedly refused the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2005 preferring not to make a public appearance.

Indo-Canadian actress Sunny Leone says she wants to romance Bollywood biggies Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor on-screen and also try her hands at comedy. Sunny first made her appearance in TV reality show 'Bigg Boss 5' in 2011 and this led to her entry in Bollywood. She made her debut in Hindi films with 'Jism 2' and will be next seen in 'Ragini MMS 2'. "It's been a year or so (in film industry) and I love being here. I am new to this industry, but I am open to doing romantic and comedy films. I want to romance both Salman and Ranbir. I want to act with both of them. I liked 'Bodyguard'.. it was fun to watch Salman," she said. The actress was talking to reporters here at a promotional event of 'Shootout at Wadala' last evening.
